To educate students on proper care of animals, specifically cats, rats, and dogs. Ever want to show or train a dog? This group will cover all things animal. Proposed activities will include going to dog shows, rat shows, animal shelters, making posters to raise awareness of invasive species, and going to Bush Park.
The ASL (American Sign Language) Club will help improve students’ skills in signing and it will also unify the ASL program as a whole. Students of all skill levels will be able to meet and help each other learn.
Black Student Union is a safe space in which students can discuss topics of multicultural experiences and other current events. Students are able to voice concerns on campus and perspective of multicultural importance. Students of all backgrounds are welcome to attend meetings and events. Proposed Activities: Weekly meetings, Potlucks, Bowling, Fundraising, Club Lunch Booths.
We are here to teach anyone who wants to learn how to bowl and for veteran bowlers to have a good time practicing their favorite sport. Meetings will take place at South but playing will take place at Firebird Lanes.

Mission Statement: To provide students of color and non- representative communities with an opportunity to receive support from upperclassmen who are also students of color and non-representative communities. Many students may not feel that they are represented, and by providing them with an opportunity to feel heard and seen, we hope to change this. Through one-on-one mentorships, students can see themselves better represented and find communities they might have had a more difficult time accessing otherwise. The Gender Sexuality Alliance (GSA) works to create a safe place for all students to be able to come as they are and be accepted. Also, even though one purpose of the GSA is to have a fun and supportive place for students, there are other reasons to join the GSA. The GSA is a group of students working towards a common goal; to eliminate bullying and promote acceptance of all people by supporting activities in the school and community to encourage acceptance of all people.
Organized group hikes to various locations in Oregon. Also, allow SSHS students to experience and gain appreciation for Oregon’s natural beauty. Taking hiking trips every 4-6 weeks with groups of 12 students/trip.
Thespians is an honor society for students who participate in high school theater. Any student who earns enough points through school theater activities, both on stage and backstage, is invited to become a member!
South Salem Investment Group (SSIG)’s purpose is to teach students the basics of investing. Our goal is to educate members on how to successfully and responsively manage their finances. In today’s world, making your money work for you is vital to becoming financially stable. SSIG will provide the tools and resources to achieve that.

The Model United Nations club engages in an authentic simulation of the United Nations system by learning about the UN system, the skills of debate, compromise, conflict resolution and negotiation. MUN team members have fun learning about the workings of world diplomacy through the lens of current events.
Our emphasis will be on tutoring but we continue to encourage the discovery and use of French language and culture. Organize several activities through the French program and community. Must be a member of the French National Honor Society.
To provide recognition in high schools for the equestrian athlete and to to give them the opportunity to achieve that recognition in a fair/positive educational format. Meetings may take place outside of school at barn for practices before meets.

Together we plan school wide activities and messaging campaigns to share messages of hope, help and strength to make our Saxon community stronger and more connected. South High Skate Club, advisor Sherman Arndt & Jacob Dufault Purpose: to bring skaters, scooters, bmxers, and long boarders together to chill, learn new skills, and possibly compete at local competitions. Meet in room 10, first Monday of the month, 3:30 – 4:30 pm.
Practicing parliamentary-style debate, public forum-style debate, and speech events, while attending regional competitions throughout the year. Parliamentary Debate, public forum debate, LD debate, individual and partner speech events are our proposed activities.
The purpose of this club will be to provide students with the knowledge and even possibly opportunities to officiate youth and high school sports. Special attention will be given to rules knowledge to promote confidence. Thespians work toward equity, diversity, inclusion, and access for all interested students.
A community for students with ranging rock climbing experience to be part of and share common interests, knowledge, and passions. A place to meet fellow climbers and grow in strength and technique. Rock Climbing at the Rock Box Climbing Gym.
Following the unified model, we hope for total inclusion between both general ed students and students with disabilities through recreational and social activities to include hiking, hanging out, sporting events etc.
Unified E-Sports Club is part of our Unified Champion Schools Program, dedicated to building inclusive opportunities for all students in partnership with Special Olympics Oregon. We will play in the Rocket League.
