Gale: Huge research database with magazines, eBooks and many databases, Including Opposing Viewpoints (great site for researching a controversial topic). Also very helpful for argumentative essays is Britannica Pro & Con and Britannica ProCon.org

EBSCO: A large research database with several thousand magazines, books, journals and encyclopedias referenced. Also includes Novelist for lots of information about many different novels.

Encyclopedias: WorldBook or Britannica:  Thousands of articles on various topics, written by professionals. 

New York Times: The nation's newspaper of record. Students and staff can make an account to get free access. 

CultureGrams: Information about countries and their cultures.

OSLIS: A large variety of research databases and more.

Tumble Book Library: An online collection of animated, talking picture books.
